Divisions and Capabilities

Fero is an innovative New Zealand company offering integrated electronic & wire technology, component supply & production solutions for manufacturers.

The Electronic Division (formerly TradeTech OEM) was established in 1987 and the Manufacturing Division (formerly Wire Solutions) in 2002. 

Fero is the group name created to bring together TradeTech and Wire Solutions, two sister companies who are both proud to be 100% New Zealand owned and operated and committed to supporting New Zealand industry and manufacturing. Fero is located in Mt Wellington, a thriving industrial area in South Auckland and employs 60 staff.  Our Manufacturing  Division and warehouse cover an area of 4,800 sq m.  We stock thousands of electronic components sourced from world-wide suppliers and specialise in contract manufacturing and processing of all wire related products.

The name Fero is derived from the Latin phrase “In Caelum Fero” which, loosely translated, means “a person who leaves a lasting impression when others meet them for the first time.” It can also mean, “using a hammer and a chisel to make a mark in metal”.  We have taken these definitions and with a bit of poetic license come up with our company motto –
“We Make Our Mark”

Fero is an expanding company with a diverse set of customers and markets.  We comprise 5 complimentary divisions:

• Warehousing and Logistics

The Manufacturing Division specialises in research, design, sourcing and production providing advice and innovative ideas to New Zealand's manufacturing sector.  With its own wire manufacturing capabilities and back up from reliable suppliers in Asia, this division has the advantage of flexibility, short lead times for small runs and plenty of capacity for bigger jobs.

The Electronic Division specialises in sourcing, pricing, supply and distribution of electronic components or parts to manufacturers.  Companies such as Designline, Gallagher, Fisher and Paykel, Tait Electronics and hundreds of other manufacturers and exporters are Fero customers and are part of the vibrant New Zealand electronic manufacturing sector.

The Audio/Video division supplies an extensive range of interconnects, converters, cable and other Audio/Video accessories to all sectors of the industry including wholesalers, retailers, installers, repairers and end users.  Fero has access to an impressive range of specialist component and equipment to overcome almost any A/V interconnect challenge.

The Spare Parts Division supplies and distributes components, parts, accessories, cables, connectors, power supplies and electronic finished products to electronic repair technicians, AV installers, wholesalers and the general public.

The Warehousing/Logistics Division provides a third-party logistics service for several leading companies e.g. The Warehouse Ltd, Telemetry Research, Philips, and LG. This is a growing side of the business and Fero manages all aspects of stock control on behalf of their customers.
